Jembaa Groove is a Berlin-based afrofusion and highlife funk group founded in late 2020 by Yannick Nolting and Eric Owusu. The 7-piece band blends jazzy sounds from Berlin's underground scene with traditional West African rhythms from Ghana and Mali, including Highlife, Adowa, and Wassoulou. Their music is influenced by 1970s soulful baritone chords and contemporary artists like Lee Fields, as well as highlife legends Ebo Taylor and Pat Thomas.
