A landmark appearance at the 1971 Avándaro Festival — dubbed the Mexican Woodstock — cemented their place in rock history, while their 1985 gold record Simplemente el Tri, featuring smash singles “Triste Canción de Amor” and “Vicioso del Rocanrol,” brought them mainstream acclaim across borders. El Tri has spent over five decades proving that rock en español is a force unto itself.
