A nostalgic baroque night.
Three exceptional voices perform rare Christmas works by Corelli and Scarlatti. While Bach and traditional carols often dominate the season, Arcangelo Corelli's Concerto grosso Op. 6 no. 8, composed in 1690, stands as a defining masterpiece of the genre. Alessandro Scarlatti, equally prolific, complements the program with his Cantata Pastorale, which features sophisticated evocations of the shepherds' instruments from the Roman countryside. Together, these pieces offer a delicate celebration of the Nativity.
