A slow-burn, underground folk night.
Described by The Observer as ‘a highly individual singer-songwriter’, Maz O’Connor is a unique artist known for her haunting, emotive vocals and poetic lyricism. Her songs are often short stories inspired by literature, folklore, and mythology. After a brief hiatus, she returns to her folk roots with her new album, ‘Love it is a Killing Thing’, a collection of ancient songs about the perils of love reimagined for a contemporary audience. Having performed at major festivals like Glastonbury and WOMAD, Maz has established herself as a significant voice in the UK folk scene. She is also an accomplished composer, having written the award-winning folk musical ‘The Wife of Michael Cleary’.
