A nostalgic, exclusive chamber music night.
The Takács Quartet, Wigmore Hall Associate Artist, performs a programme that explores themes of social division and migration. Carlos Simon's Warmth from Other Suns (2019-20), inspired by Isabel Wilkerson’s account of the Great Migration of African-Americans from the rural South to urban centres, is framed by masterworks from the classical canon. The evening features string quartets by Joseph Haydn and Johannes Brahms, showcasing the group's renowned interpretive depth across three centuries of music.
