Jonathan Leibovitz possesses a singular ability to mesmerise listeners, moulding every phrase with imagination and infallible control. The young Israeli clarinettist, a winner of the Crusell, Aviv, and Carl Nielsen Competitions, is joined by pianist Eylam Keshet for a beguiling chamber programme. The performance features works by Clara and Robert Schumann, Alban Berg, Paul Hindemith, and Erwin Schulhoff, culminating in Paul Ben-Haim’s seductive Songs without Words.
