Joshua & Janna combine classical and jazz into a continuous whole, switching smoothly between styles and blending existing works with their own compositions and improvisations. The influences of Jobim and Mengelberg are audible in their program, where contrast and coherence reinforce each other. Both musicians studied at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Janna, who plays the violin, has performed in various youth and chamber music ensembles. Joshua, who plays the cello, is an award-winning musician and the founder of the ensembles Woodcraft and Moon Garden. The concert takes place in the Bloei & Groei garden as part of the Grachtenfestival.
