Formed by guitarist and lifelong Hendrix devotee Denny Ilett, this explosive 16-piece ensemble reimagines Hendrix’s groundbreaking music through the lens of the modern jazz orchestra. Far from a tribute act, Electric Lady Big Band is a bold sonic exploration, with Hendrix’s iconic riffs reimagined through rich brass arrangements and orchestral textures, bridging 60s psychedelia and contemporary big band jazz. Originally created to mark the anniversary of Hendrix’s landmark album Electric Ladyland, the project has grown into a powerful celebration of Hendrix not only as guitar hero, but as composer, innovator and musical visionary. A fitting tribute to an artist whose final live performance took place at Ronnie Scott’s just days before his death, Electric Lady Big Band connects the spirit of Hendrix with the energy and improvisational fire of big band jazz.
