Brandon Woody’s Upendo
Baltimore-born trumpeter and composer Brandon Woody brings his soulful project Upendo to Ronnie Scott's. Woody's music explores themes of love, resilience, and community, drawing from jazz, gospel, and the rich lineage of Black music. A rising force in contemporary jazz, he signed with Blue Note Records in 2024 and released his striking debut album, For The Love Of It All, in 2025. His work is known for balancing structure and freedom, resulting in a deeply emotional and forward-looking sound. Rooted in his hometown's vibrant creative culture, Woody has collaborated with artists ranging from Solange Knowles to Robert Glasper. He uses music as a tool for healing and connection, often leading masterclasses to bridge generations through sound.
