Beatrice Rana in Recital
A nostalgic, underground classical piano night.
Emotion, imagination and mind-boggling skill – this solo programme from Italian pianist Beatrice Rana has everything a piano fan could wish for. Her fingers seem to dance across the keys in a programme that begins with Bach’s Italian Concerto. Next comes Clementi’s take on the story of Dido, Queen of Carthage, where heartbreak is clear from the opening bar of the eloquent score. Finally, in Carnaval, Robert Schumann wrote 21 short musical portraits representing friends, colleagues and theatrical characters, allowing different aspects of Rana’s artistry to shine through endlessly varied colors.
