A nostalgic, raw chamber orchestra night.
Cellist Ivan Karizna keert na een indrukwekkend debuut terug bij Amsterdam Sinfonietta. De winnaar van de Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd brengt een aangrijpende vertolking van Sjostakovitsj’ Altvioolsonate, bewerkt voor cello en strijkers. Het programma omvat tevens de poëtische Aria van Mieczysław Weinberg en Tsjaikovski’s geliefde Serenade voor strijkers, een kernstuk uit het romantische repertoire. De avond begint met een inleiding op het Foyerdeck, gevolgd door het hoofdprogramma in de Grote Zaal. Karizna vertolkt de emotionele diepgang van Sjostakovitsj’ laatste werk, dat de componist opdroeg aan de nagedachtenis van Beethoven.
