Jan van de Engel, GIAN VAN, and Fotis Siotas

A meta-traditional collaboration between Jan van de Engel and Fotis Siotas at the atrium of Stoa Culture. The duo explores archetypal rhythmic and melodic elements from the broader Greek musical tradition. Improvisation, a core element of folk music, plays a central role in their collaboration. Sonically, the coexistence of acoustic instruments with soundscapes from pop and dance culture—such as effects, bass, and modular synthesizers—gives a new dimension to their music, creating a hybrid acoustic and electronic sound.
