Dónal Maguire is a skilled Irish performer of traditional folk songs who also plays the mandolin and tenor banjo. Originally from Drogheda, County Louth, he moved to Britain as a teenager where his passion for traditional music was sparked by groups like the Clancy Brothers and the Dubliners. He became a regular at London's renowned Singers’ Club, performing alongside figures such as Ewan MacColl and Peggy Seeger. After spending many years in Lancashire and releasing several critically acclaimed albums—including his project on Michael Davitt—he has since returned to live in County Clare, Ireland.
