The HU & SKÁLD
The HU is a Mongolian heavy metal band formed in 2016. Integrating traditional Mongolian instrumentation, including the Morin khuur and Mongolian throat singing, the ensemble creates a unique style they call 'hunnu rock', derived from the Mongolian root word for human. Joining them is SKÁLD, an immersive musical project that revives the Viking spirit through ancient Northern legends. Inspired by the poetry of ancient skalds, they perform in Old Norse using traditional instruments like shamanic drums, talharpa, and jouhikko to evoke the ancestral atmosphere of the North and its gods.
