Minimalist Icons: Philip Glass
A raw classical night.
The Los Angeles Philharmonic presents a night dedicated to the minimalist vision of Philip Glass. The program features his Violin Concerto No. 1, a poignant work composed for his father, and the new Symphony No. 15. The latter continues Glass' exploration of historical titans, drawing inspiration from Abraham Lincoln's 1838 Lyceum Address. Part of the Casual Friday series, this shorter performance includes a post-concert conversation with the artists and an after-party with LA Phil musicians and complimentary beer tastings.
