Farid Sheek & Sepand Dadbeh
An underground traditional music night.
Herengracht 502, 1017 CB Amsterdam
Farid Sheek and Sepand Dadbeh perform their own compositions for daf, oud, and tanbour at the Mayor's House in Amsterdam. Their music connects Persian traditions with jazz and contemporary classical music, in which improvisation plays a central role. Farid Sheek is a composer and percussionist who has collaborated on projects at the Concertgebouw, while Sepand Dadbeh studied Iranian music at the University of Tehran and Codarts Rotterdam, having performed with the Shams Ensemble. The performance evolves from fixed melodic structures into free interplay between the two musicians, creating a distinctive and unexpected sound.
