A raw, underground chamber music night.
The Leonkoro Quartet performs a programme exploring Benjamin Britten’s deep connection to the music of Henry Purcell. The performance includes Britten’s Third String Quartet, which was the final substantial work he finished before his passing on December 4, 1976. To set the scene, broadcaster Zeb Soanes provides readings from Thomas Mann’s Death in Venice prior to the performance of String Quartet No. 3.
