LSO Jerwood Composer+ Member Lisa Robertson presents an evening of world-class contemporary chamber music exploring birdsong and the ecological threat to our aerial neighbours. The performance features works by Arlene Sierra, Emily Doolittle, and Carola Bauckholt, alongside a new world premiere by Lisa Robertson. The repertoire delves into birdsong mimicry, photographically accurate transcriptions of bird calls, and Celtic folklore, ranging from ethereal and fierce sounds to dark melancholy. The evening concludes with a new work exploring Gaelic legends and mourning the decline of bird species.
