A nostalgic, underground traditional folk night.
A unique intergenerational duo featuring virtuoso players John Kirkpatrick and Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne. This musical combo explores the possibilities of concertina music in a joyous celebration of their art. Both performers share a kindred passion for English traditional music and song, while also drawing inspiration from various other genres. John Kirkpatrick is a legendary figure in the English folk scene, an MBE-decorated musician known for his work solo and with bands like Steeleye Span. Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne is a leading member of the new generation of folk musicians, acclaimed as a soloist and with the trio Granny’s Attic. Together, they deliver visceral performances of traditional tunes, including unique bass Anglo concertina duets.
