Seppuku Pistols was formed following the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Originally a protest act by four former punk musicians, it has evolved into a collective of approximately 30 members. Their performances blend centuries-old Japanese folk traditions with the energy of a punk show, utilizing traditional instruments like taiko drums, shamisen, and bamboo flutes to create hypnotic and physically intense music. Beyond performing, the group is dedicated to preserving traditional Japanese crafts and folklore, maintaining a strong connection to their cultural heritage through a DIY spirit.
