Droompop voor gebroken harten, neonverlichte dansvloeren en filmische synths: op zaterdag 21 november komen Desire en Johnny Jewel naar Rotown. Het Canadese Desire, ontstaan in Montréal en tegenwoordig actief vanuit Los Angeles, beweegt zich op het snijvlak van synthpop, mode en cinema. Frontvrouw Megan Louise wisselt moeiteloos tussen Frans- en Engelstalige vocalen, gedragen door de italo disco, synthwave en noir-pop van producer Johnny Jewel. Wereldwijde bekendheid volgde met de iconische track Under Your Spell, bekend uit de cultfilm Drive (2011). Voorafgaand speelt Johnny Jewel een soloset. De Amerikaan is bekend van onder meer Chromatics, Glass Candy, z’n platenlabel Italians Do It Better, zijn werk voor Twin Peaks en geldt als een van de meest invloedrijke figuren binnen de moderne synthpop.
