Foster The People is the creative project of Los Angeles-based musicians Mark Foster, Jacob “Cubbie” Fink, and Mark Pontius, established in 2009. The group rose to international fame with their electronic-infused guitar pop sound, particularly following the global success of their 2011 single “Pumped Up Kicks.” Frontman Mark Foster's background in writing commercial jingles contributes to the band's versatile ability to move seamlessly between genres. Their discography ranges from sparkling guitar pop to progressive electronic pop, and their live performances are known for high energy, often featuring extended instrumental sections that blend various styles like dubstep and disco.
