See Pieter Wispelwey's upcoming dates
Acclaimed by Gramophone as a daring interpreter with thought-provoking ideas, Dutch cellist Pieter Wispelwey performs Britten's First Cello Suite. This work serves as a rich 20th-century counterpart to the cello suites of JS Bach, reflecting Wispelwey's deep affinity for the composer. He is joined by his duo partner, pianist Paolo Giacometti, for a performance of Dmitri Kabalevsky's Cello Sonata. This majestic work was originally inspired by and composed for the legendary Mstislav Rostropovich.
