Leon Foster Thomas is a master of the steel pan whose ambitious command of the instrument has taken him to prestigious world stages including New York’s Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Moscow International House of Music. His work blends jazz with the unique resonance of the steel pan, transcending traditional stereotypes. He has collaborated with a diverse range of acclaimed artists such as Hugh Masekela, Randy Brecker, and Dolly Parton. For this performance, he is joined by a talented ensemble featuring Sam Leak on piano, James Allsop on reeds, Calum Gourlay on double bass, and Josh Blackmore on drums. The group also features musicians Lox, Ben Glasser, and Mirko Scarcia.
