The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Ryan Wigglesworth celebrate the orchestra’s 90th anniversary with a musical snapshot of 1936. The programme features Rachmaninov’s final symphony, the Romantic Symphony No. 3, alongside Bartók’s electrifying Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta. The evening also includes Varèse’s solo flute work Density 21.5, performed by the orchestra's Principal Flute Matthew Higham, showcasing a turning point in musical history.
