CICLADE presents an evening featuring Devon Rexi and Sacred Lodge. Devon Rexi is a trio from Amsterdam that blends dub, krautrock, and no-wave into a unique, bass-heavy sound with a funk groove. Their music utilizes percussions, flute, sampled cries, and autotuned vocals as a creative playground. Their recent collaboration with John T. Gast, Breathstep, is considered a significant release. Sacred Lodge is the solo project of Parisian producer-composer Matthieu Ruben N’Dongo. His music incorporates guttural chants, polyrhythmic percussion, and bass/trap melodies with noise elements. Drawing on ceremonial traditions from the Fang people and revolutionary theories, his performances are characterized by massive fervor and decolonial intent.
