The Wants is an experimental New York City band formed in 2017 by songwriter and guitarist Madison Velding-VanDam alongside drummer Jason Gates, later joined by synthesist Yasmeen Night. Their music blends post-punk songwriting with electronic rhythms, featured across their albums Container (2020) and Bastard (2025).
