A nostalgic classical night.
A powerful orchestral programme featuring the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The evening opens with the sensuous sounds of Debussy's Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune, followed by the world premiere of Sun Sundered Head: Nocturne for Cello and Orchestra, a magical new work by innovative British composer Laurence Osborn. The concert concludes with Brahms' monumental Symphony no. 1, a journey from torment to triumph. This performance marks the RPO debut of inspirational guest conductor Ariane Matiakh.
