The four cellists of the Metropole Orkest, known as Metrocelli, specialize in jazz, pop, and world music. Functioning as a band, they push the versatility of the cello to its limits. From the raw grunge sounds of Nirvana and funky bass rhythms to the warm trumpet tones of Ibrahim Maalouf, Metrocelli brings a high degree of creativity and craftsmanship to their instruments, while maintaining the cello's poetic soul through traditional folk melodies.
