Philip Glass: Dances
A rare chance to experience Philip Glass' Dance Nos. 1-5, performed by the James McVinnie Ensemble. Created in 1979 as a landmark collaboration between choreographer Lucinda Childs and artist Sol LeWitt, this work combines music, movement, and visuals into a hypnotic artistic vision. Written shortly after Einstein on the Beach, the pieces feature combinations of solo organ, voice, and saxophone, capturing a pivotal moment in Glass' career with patterns that reflect joyful innocence and acceptance.
