At Higherlife Jam, the stage is a space for spontaneous creation where musicians build a unique evening without a fixed setlist. This performance blends highlife, afrobeat, gospel, and jazz into a continuous musical conversation that invites the audience to become part of the process. Founded in 2022 by drummer Junior Appiah, known as JUNYA, the project draws on his Ghanaian roots and extensive experience performing at major venues and festivals. This concert is presented as part of the Jazz Gems series, a collaboration between the Grachtenfestival and the Keep an Eye Foundation that gives emerging talents the freedom to curate original programs in distinctive locations across Amsterdam.
