Gwendolin and Franky are Grateful Cat, a songwriting duo from Berlin. Their music is influenced by the spirit of the 60s, Laurel Canyon, and the New York folk and beat scene, drawing comparisons to the Byrds and Velvet Underground. They specialize in classic songwriting, retro power pop, and indie folk with beautiful harmonies. With alternating lead vocals, they explore everyday absurdities and political doomsday themes through their lyrics. Their sound is often described as a creative meeting between Jonathan Richman and Kim Deal.
