A nostalgic classical night.
Norwegian conductor Tabita Berglund leads the BBC Symphony Orchestra in a programme contrasting the torrential energy of Brahms's First Piano Concerto with the tuneful, inventive score of Grieg's Peer Gynt. Soloist Francesco Piemontesi joins for the Brahms, a work embodying power and expression. The evening also features an extended sequence from Grieg’s music for Ibsen’s drama, including favourites like 'Morning' and 'In the Hall of the Mountain King'.
