MUSIC OF THE STARS - Markus Stockhausen

Music of the Stars

An open-air, underground contemporary classical night.

9:00 PM - 10:30 PM
Paros Park

Ai-Yannis Detis Kolimbithres Naoussa, Paros 844 01, Greece

The Festival at the Park 2026 welcomes Markus Stockhausen, one of the most important contemporary European musicians, for a unique concert dedicated to the mystery and poetry of the starry sky. Entitled Music of the Stars, the performance is a special musical tour of the universe where Stockhausen's trumpet and flugelhorn sounds meet Tara Bouman's clarinets and Vasilis Rakopoulos's guitar. Under the night sky, the three musicians create soundscapes inspired by constellations, celestial harmony, and Greek mythology. The concert explores intuitive music, a movement introduced by Karlheinz Stockhausen based on creative freedom, improvisation, and deep interaction between performers. Each execution is unique, as compositions transform through live communication and their relationship with the space. Stockhausen's work combines lyricism and experimentation with a spiritual dimension. Set in the natural environment of Paros Park on the Ai-Yannis Detis peninsula, the Aegean landscape becomes the ideal backdrop for a musical experience that turns the gaze toward the stars.
