New York indie rock quintet Slow Fiction brings their melodic 90s-inspired guitar sound to La Boule Noire. Tickets on Mood.
Originally from New York, Slow Fiction is an indie rock quintet formed out of university friendships and creative connections during the pandemic. Their sound balances the raw energy of 90s rock—drawing inspiration from Sonic Youth and The Jesus and Mary Chain—with contemporary melancholy and deep emotional intensity. The five members chose to live together, turning their shared daily life into a creative playground that shaped their 2024 debut EP Crush, followed by their self-released debut album dollhouse. Across 11 tracks, the record explores identity and self-perception through a nervous, melodic, and cathartic rock lens.
