For this summer edition of Blue Jay Live, The Finsbury hosts an open jam featuring a special headline performance by Mukuza. Drawing early inspiration from Michael Jackson, his music serves as a therapeutic journey through life's challenges, notably captured in his 2019 EP, Pray First, Prey Later. His work is recognized for its raw honesty and uplifting message of hope. Supporting the night is Indy Newland, a genre-defying hip-hop artist from Brixton who explores themes of love, resilience, and his experiences as a trans man. Newland's style merges classic hip-hop with vintage soul, jazz, and R&B, citing influences ranging from Erykah Badu and Amy Winehouse to Tyler the Creator and Kendrick Lamar. The evening begins with an open jam, followed by scheduled sets from the featured artists and a concluding jam session.
