English art rock quintet Squid make their Barbican debut to celebrate Rough Trade's 50th Anniversary. Squid commemorates their first decade as a band whilst looking firmly ahead with this special performance celebrating Rough Trade’s 50th anniversary. Formed in Brighton in 2016, the quintet have spent the past decade cementing their reputation as one of the most inventive bands in art rock, known for their ever evolving performances. Squid’s latest album Cowards is an exploration of evil; nine stories whose protagonists reckon with cults, charisma and apathy. The album ranges over textures of folk, kosmische, psychedelia, jazz and electronics, extending from an acclaimed catalogue of chart-topping hits that marked a new era of experimentation in British guitar music.






The performance occurs on December 5, 2026, at the Barbican Centre, situated at Silk Street, London EC2Y 8DS.
This event marks the band's debut at the Barbican and serves as a special tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Rough Trade label.
