men are scary
A movie that is deceptively upfront about what it is exploring, and surprisingly sophisticated in how it does so, Tim Kasher’s WHO’S WATCHING is a movie about a suburban digital peep creep that crosses the boundary between tense and dangerous and hilarious and mocking in a dizzying, effective and disturbing fashion.Anchored by two marvelous performances by Zachary Ray Sherman and Gracie Gillam, as the wolf and the sheep, the movie uses the cinematic form itself to examine not just what the toxic stalker main character is doing, but how our expectations about these type of people and these kinds of stories play out. It is a movie with tricks up its sleeves and hearing a crowd laugh, cheer and suck in their breath each time the filmmakers and cast pulled one off was a thrill to see.Bravo to all involved.
