Inspired mainly by her own spirit, Bjork, Aldous Harding, Judee Sill, Paul Simon and with the limbs of a young David Byrne if he were captain of the Battlestar; Irish artist Ae Mak (Aoife McCann) has been creating what her friends describe as “nursery rhymes for adults”, producing genre-defying other-worldly pop music with industrial beats and charging them into visceral - kinetic stage shows. She has performed across Europe & the UK; supported bands such as Ye Vagabonds, TuneYards, Django Django, Warpaint and performed at festivals such as Fusion, Reading & Leeds, Latitude, KEXP; Icelandic Airwaves and Electric Picnic. Her songwriting led her to signing a worldwide publishing deal with BDI Music UK in 2019. Having released a plethora of self-produced EPs, done the Berlin and the L.A, thing - made a couple of tangy cartoon albums, after a period of knock-backs and breakthroughs; She is back. And will release a new body of work this year, Her debut record “Folk Songs For Mama & Papa” will be out on May 29th, 2026. A cosmical, spiritual - folk work. A “return to voice”. The title track is out now via Spacer Records & Wipeout Music
