An underground indie pop artist.
AMMARI writes songs for the beautiful mess of being alive — the moments when joy and uncertainty, freedom and fear, hope and loneliness somehow exist at the same time. Now based in London, she has been singing since childhood and spent 15 years performing with a band in Moscow before beginning again in a new city — this time with songs of her own. Her music moves between emotionally driven pop, singer-songwriter storytelling and a love of big, expressive arrangements: strong vocals, live instruments, memorable melodies and songs that aren’t afraid to be vulnerable without becoming quiet. Her debut single, “Honey Rivers,” is about something deceptively simple: remembering to enjoy your life while you’re actually living it. A song about loosening your grip, noticing the good that is already here, and not waiting for the perfect moment to feel alive. “Honey Rivers” arrives October 9 and marks the beginning of AMMARI’s debut EP.
