An underground drone artist.
Glice is an Amsterdam-based noise duo that has been producing uncompromising, layered electronics since 2015. Using analog equipment and a keen ear for detail, Ruben Braeken and Melle Kromhout craft a sound that moves between hushed musique concrète and industrial noise, between abstract sonic experiments and moments of fragile melody—sometimes dark and ominous, at other times deceptively meditative. Following their critically acclaimed debut LIX (2015), Glice performed at festivals such as Rewire, Incubate and Unsound and released several cassette tapes. Braeken and Kromhout then travelled to Berlin to record the album CIELO (2017) with Alexander Hacke (Einstürzende Neubauten)—a next step in their sonic evolution, where post-industrial textures meet melodic development. This direction continued on the monumental double album PYRE (2021), co-produced by Lasse Marhaug. Exactly ten years after their debut, Glice returns in 2025 with ENVOI. Recorded during a series of concerts with Hackedepicciotto in 2022, this is the purest representation yet of their intense, disorienting live shows: four pieces that build tension layer by layer with distorted voices, piercing noise, rattling synths, fragments of melody, and deep drones.
Glice creates experimental electronic music, blending drone, industrial noise, and musique concrète with layered analog synthesis.
