KOLAKALE makes music where the bass leads and everything else follows. Rooted in jazz and built through ethereal, experimental production, his sound inverts the usual hierarchy, placing the low end at the center rather than the background, and letting it carry melody, tension, and emotion the way a voice usually would. His debut EP explores the space between light and darkness, not as opposites, but as something one moves through. The lead single, "DARKNESS," out 7 August, sets that tone: dark, spacious, bass-forward, jazz-rooted, experimental, and built around the idea that light only means something once you've been through the dark. The full EP follows on 9 October. Based in London, KOLAKALE writes, records, and self-produces every release independently.
