An underground ambient folk artist.
Listening to Liv Andersson’s music is like getting lost in a conversation at night. The German-British artist creates landscapes of words and sounds - music she calls Folk Noir. It's dark and experimental folk music with a cinematic quality that evokes associations of surreal, mysterious movies, of Film Noir. In November 2024, Liv Andersson released her EP Paper Boat, an organic, warm, and, at times, uncomfortable Debut, reminding us of artists such as Fiona Apple, Laura Marling or Portishead. The release owned her airplay, interviews and live sessions for major German radio stations such as Deutschlandfunk Kultur, MDR Kultur, Radio Eins or Byte FM. Paper Boat is accompanied by a three-part concept-video-series reflecting the songs vivid imagery. It's the kind of music you would listen to just before you fall asleep. The surroundings blur and you're unsure if what awaits you is a sweet dream or a nightmare.
