A nostalgic, homegrown folk artist.
Folk w/ touches of Jazz & Soul from late 1970s Beirut. Written, performed, produced by Rogér Fakhr who’s remembered as a musical genius among his is peers of Lebanese music scene. Most of his music was recorded on Revox/Tascam reel-to-reel tape recorders while half of his recordings still unreleased & the other half circulated in a hand copied runs of less than 200 cassettes among friends in Beirut. Apart from recording his own songs he was guitarist for i.e. Issam Hajali, Ziad Rahbani, Fairouz. (All photos taken from Raymond Sabbah’s archive.)
Rogér Fakhr plays folk, jazz, lo-fi - understated, rooted in tradition rather than chasing trends. Folk w/ touches of Jazz & Soul from late 1970s Beirut.
Rogér Fakhr's live sets are minimal and understated - more about the music than any kind of production.
