Born into a family of musicians and stage performers, and raised in rural Wales, Sammie has been writing lyrics and creating melodies for as long as she can remember. With her life having taken a different path, however, it wasn't until the Covid pandemic that she learned to play the guitar and was able to focus fully on her passion. Sammie felt it fitting to make her debut with the cover of a song from her favourite childhood TV show, and one of her earliest inspirations. While pursuing an alternative career, Sammie always felt the gravitational pull of music and it provided her with a 'home', wherever in the world she was. It was while working for fifteen years in Sydney, Australia and travelling through the USA, that her love of folk and country music intensified, and these genres have been the most influential in her writing. Sammie writes about her life experiences - the good, the bad, the heartbreaking - with lyrics she hopes will resonate, console and inspire. "Music has always been my first love, and my most constant companion, with specific songs spiriting me back to pivotal moments in my life, having helped me through the biggest challenges, or provided a soundtrack to the happiest of times. I hope one or two of my songs can do that for you." You can read more about Sammie on her website: www.sammiesoravia.co.uk
