An underground experimental act from the local scene.
Oud player Aly Eissa (EGYPT), violinist Ayman Asfour (EGYPT) and keyboardist Jonas Cambien (NORWAY/BELGIUM) are the Handover, a trio formed in Cairo in 2023. The Handover is a (unique) blend of (mesmerizing) violin improvisations, (shaabi) synth solos, percussive 60s organ and repetitive oud riffs. Their live compositions and improvisations are a hypnotic build up that takes you from meditative minimalism into (explosive) trance-like dance rhythms inspired by ritual music from Egypt's countryside.
