An underground anti-folk night.
Catch avant-garde jazz and Nile Delta traditions performed by The Handover and Kareem Samara at Cafe OTO. Tickets on Mood.
The Handover is a trio comprising Aly Eissa, Ayman Asfour, and Jonas Cambien. Blending hypnotic Egyptian Nile Delta traditions, avant-garde jazz, and psychedelic improvisation on oud, violin, and vintage keys, the ensemble performs long-form, percussionless sets. They are joined by London-based Palestinian multi-instrumentalist Kareem Samara, who explores contemporary soundscapes by combining traditional oud with electronics, loopers, and field recordings.
