Third Ego

Amsterdam punk rock band Third Ego returns with their second full-length album, More Ego, a darker, deeper and more personal follow-up to their 2022 self-titled debut. The first single, “Not Just a Memory,” kicks off the road toward the album’s release on May 1. More Ego dives further into the inner self, embracing the darker sides of life while maintaining the band’s unmistakable melodic punch. Some of the songs have been waiting more than twenty years to resurface, finally dusted off and brought back to life through the band’s raw and organic approach. Recorded with a live feel, the album delivers a sound rooted in ’90s punk while echoing the spirit of the roaring ’80s and earlier punk traditions. Third Ego was formed in early 2020 in the depths of Amsterdam’s Vondelbunker, where four seasoned punk rock veterans came together while the world outside slowed to a halt. From the troubled mind with its compulsive thinking came a band that blends a dark side with a lust for life into surprisingly catchy melodies. With More Ego, Third Ego proves that some stories take decades to fully unfold, and that the darker corners of life often make the most compelling songs. “Not Just a Memory,” reflects on the strange moments in life that escape our control but somehow become the real thing.
