Gamelan Lindhu Raras
A nostalgic, underground world night.
The Javanese gamelan ensemble Lindhu Raras presents an evening of traditional music and dance. Formed in 2007 following a workshop with the late Dhalang and musician Sri Joko Raharjo, the ensemble takes its name from the Javanese for 'harmonious quake.' Bringing together musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds, the group performs classical repertoire from the royal courts of central Java. For this special performance, the ensemble will be joined by guest musicians from Hamburg and Budapest to showcase the layered textures of the gamelan within the unique acoustics of the Galiläakirche.
