Lebanese composer and oud master Marcel Khalife marks fifty years of Promises of the Storm in a solo performance. Tickets on Mood.
Lebanese composer and oud master Marcel Khalife returns to London for a rare solo performance marking the 50th anniversary of his seminal 1976 album Promises of the Storm. Born amidst exile, conflict, and inspired by the poetry of Mahmoud Darwish, the landmark recording established Khalife as a defining figure in contemporary Arab music. In this special concert, he revisits four core compositions in stripped-back arrangements for voice and oud.
The concert takes place on February 4, 2027, at the Barbican Centre located at Silk St, Barbican, London EC2Y 8DS.
